Q: Is the program able to automatically download financial information?
A: The Cash Dashboard was designed for active interaction rather than passive downloading to enable the best financial decision making. The benefits to using active interaction in this program are many, including improved critical thinking skills, increased understanding and retention of where you are with your money, what your spending patterns are, and increased motivation and financial success. A meta-analysis of 225 separate studies found that active learning/involvement produces significantly better performance for every type of person. The small amount of time needed for hands-on use of this program will be worth it and can open up ideas for more uses and benefits that this program can provide to you.
Q: I’m having trouble getting back into thecashdashboard.com website after purchasing the program. What am I doing wrong?
A: Go to the address bar at the very top of a browser window – not the GOOGLE or Bing address bar – and type in thecashdashboard.com to get to the website.
Q: How much time per day or per week will I need to spend on my Cash Dashboard program?
A: To get started you’ll look at a current month’s bank statement and credit card statement and use that to type in your own income and expense categories/descriptions and the amounts in each. An investment of an hour or so will take you far. You can change any of this information later, anytime that you want. A few minutes per day or every few days will keep you updated on your checking and credit card status.
Q: I don’t have Microsoft Excel – do I have to purchase it in order to use this program?
A: Go to Microsoft365.com and sign up to use this, which includes Excel, for free via the web. No installation is required and your file is private and secure, stored in the Cloud.
Q: Can Google Sheets be used instead of Excel?
A: This program has been written in Google Sheets as well as Excel and we’re working to be able to send it in a Google Sheets file. The small number of commands used in this program are very similar in both Excel and Google Sheets.
Q: Can I link budgets from year to year?
A: Yes! Instructions on how to link next year’s budget to this year’s budget will be available after purchase. There is no limit on how many years you can connect.
